Registered Manager Hannah James Comments:

The Penzance branch opened in July 2015 with just one staff member and one client and has since grown to become one of the largest branches under the Westcountry Home Care/Alexandras Community Care umbrella. I am the Registered Manager here in Penzance and just love working for such a friendly, caring company.

I started in 2014 as a part time carer but loved the job so much moved to full time and taking on more responsibility. First I became a Team Leader before moving on to Deputy Manager, Manager and then earlier this year I passed my CQC interview to become the Registered Manager for Westcountry Home Care Penzance.

All the staff work exceptionally well together with a great team ethos. Our primary focus is in making sure our care packages are consistently person-centred. We specialise in complex care needs and 24-hour care. We source extensive training, both in-house and externally, to ensure we can deliver on a range of care packages and can support people living with Picks Disease (frontotemporal dementia), Huntington’s, Parkinson’s, Lew Body dementia, Dercum disease and much more.

We receive regular, positive feedback from our customers supporting people in and around Penzance, including but not limited to Newlyn, Marazion, St Buryan, Hayle, Connor Downs, Carbis Bay and St Ives.

CQC Comments:

"People's care plans were detailed and informative and provided staff with sufficient information to enable them to meet people's needs. People and their relatives had been involved in the process of developing and reviewing these documents."

Supporting Team

I’ve been working for Alexandra’s for the past 4 years. I started off as a carer visiting our clients and supporting them within their own homes and loved it from the start.

I had some time off for maternity leave but I came back as I truly enjoy working here. I am very sociable and enjoy spending time with my two sons, friends and family outside of my job role.

Getting to know my clients is the best part for me I have built up unforgettable relationships with our clients. In 2023 I started a new job role as Team Leader for the Penzance branch and am delighted that I have now been promoted to Deputy Manager

I have worked as the Penzance Admin Assistant since March 2018. I am an identical twin and live in Carbis Bay with my husband and I have 2 very grown up boys and a gorgeous granddaughter. I love my music, especially Heart 80's and enjoy going to concerts and I also love musical theatre and sunshine holidays.
